Event Description:
ProjectFREE Theater Opening Art Reception & Exhibit Featuring two artists: Lauren Rittenhouse is an accomplished actor with over twenty years of experience in theater. She has performed in numerous productions in California, New Jersey and Florida. She is the Ambassador/Spokesperson for ProjectFREE and their RisingStarz theater group. This marks the sixth production for The RisingStarz and is their first original play. Past productions include Broadway adaptations of Guys & Dolls, South Pacific and Mamma Mia. Lauren is an aspiring artist, poet and musician. Her original art work is on display at the ProjectFREE Art Gallery & Studio and will soon be featured at The Cathrine Hickman Theater during the month of May, 2019. As a musician, Lauren plays drums and percussion and loves to sing. She has had the opportunity to play with some of  Tampa Bay's top local talent such as: All the Answers, The Cheaters, Mad Beach Mafia, Shimmering Muse and Deb Hunseder. Her poetry/songs are inspirational. One of her most emotional songs is “ Notice Me”. A song about living with Down Syndrome and trying to find love and being accepted by society. Lauren is always looking forward to the next challenge. Audrey Short is a multi-disciplinary studio artist and local musician/songwriter based out of Saint Petersburg, Florida. She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida in 2019.  When she is not making art or playing with her bands, Tropico BLVD and OhMegAud!, she is working with her students at ProjectFREE of Gulfport.  Much of her inspiration comes through her relationship with music, but she explores a multitude of different subject matter.  Her ideas and interests are constantly shifting towards new concepts and she incorporates many non-traditional materials in her work.  Integration of various aspects of the human condition is important for her to conceptually put meaning behind her work.  Her identity is revealed to her audience by sharing work that is influenced by the driving forces in her life.
